Mr. Shashi Kiran belongs to 2002 batch of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineer (IRSME). He is having more than 18 years of experience of Indian Railways. He has worked as Sr. Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Power), Dy. Chief Environment & Housekeeping Manager and Dy. General Manager, NWR before joining the current assignment of Chief Public Relations Officer, NWR/HQ.

He has been serving in the Territorial Army since 2019 and presently holding the rank of Captain in the Territorial Army.

He has been conferred with many awards for his commendable work –

- National level Minister of Railway award for outstanding achievement and excellence in the year 2021.
- Awarded with Ministry of Railway award for “Outstanding work in Environment Initiatives” by the then Hon’ble Minister of Railway Sh. Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu in the year 2017.
- Awarded by General Manager for best efficiency in the year 2011 & 2017.

Apart from his official work, he takes keen interest in sports, cultural activities and culinary. As well as, he has hobbies like- Playing Guitar, Casio, Karaoke singing etc.
